Opened in 1994 by Marian Pyle, The Elegant Needle has built a community for customers looking to learn, stitch, and bring their projects to life through needles and thread. As a full service needlepoint store, we are proud to assist you through the entire needlepoint process, from choosing your first project to selecting the right finishing!
Whether it’s your first time visiting or you’re one of our regulars, our team is always ready to share their needlepoint experience with you! Each staff member brings their own unique needlepoint experience and talent to The Elegant Needle, whether through lessons, fiber selections, decorative stitches or design. Catherine Pletsch
Catherine Pletsch’s love for needlepoint began early, with her grandmother teaching her to stitch at only four years old. She began frequenting The Elegant Needle at 14 and volunteered at the shop in college, developing a close relationship with Marian Pyle and a true passion for sharing the joy of needlepoint. When Marian decided to retire, Catherine naturally stepped up and continued to grow The Elegant Needle into what it is today; a welcoming community for stitchers of all ages and experience levels.
